With unprecedented access to the artist and his masterpieces, ACTUALLY, ICONIC: RICHARD ESTES invites viewers into the creative world of an icon of the photorealist movement. In the late 1960s, Richard Estes and other photorealists — including John Baede, Ralph Goings and Chuck Close — began to capture the essence of photographs on canvas. The documentary explores Estes’ iconic paintings of everyday city scenes, such as 1968’s ''Telephone Booth," and examines the painter’s techniques and inspirations.
