Our most recent venture

Artemis Independent and our sister company, Hogwild Films, are now in production on a video series featuring unique business owners in the town of Boone and throughout Watauga County, North Carolina. Where is that, you ask? Well... it's in the boonies! Or more precisely, comfortably perched high atop the ancient and spectacular Blue Ridge Mountains in the western part of the state.

We love Boone & the High Country, and ‘boonies’ is our way of introducing the world to this unique community and the warm-hearted entrepreneurs who have chosen to call these beautiful Appalachian Mountains home.

When can we watch?

We're excited to announce that ‘boonies’ will be airing on public television!

If you’re here in North Carolina, you can watch starting this Sunday (April 7, 2019) on UNCTV:

101 “Angela Kelly” on Sunday April 7th at 7:50pm

102 “Jesse Miller” on Sunday April 14th at 7:50pm

103 “Anna Roseman” on Sunday April 21st at 7:50pm

Following each broadcast, the episodes will also be available to stream on the PBS Video app, PBS.org and the UNC-TV video portals.

‘boonies’ will also launch on national public television beginning May 10 – check your local listings to find out when it airs in your neck of the woods!

And – your support is more important than ever! We’re already starting work on Season 2, and fundraising is the first step. The more we’re able to spread the word, the more stories we can share – so follow us on Facebook and Instagram, share our posts, and tell all your friends.

You can also support us by making a contribution on our Southern Documentary Fund page, or by purchasing (and showing off!) a locally-made boonies t-shirt or sticker – links below.

Hop on the bandwagon, folks – great things are happening in the boonies!
