Giving birth has turned into a battleground for too many Black women and their babies. Going behind the statistics and beyond grief, BIRTHING JUSTICE (1x90) places Black women at the center of the fight to fix a broken system as they transform the future for women in this country.  The documentary focuses on the progress being made by those on the frontline of this crisis and highlights solutions that can be replicated in communities across the country.  In order to assure a broad spectrum of experiences, the film elevates the lived experiences of Black women including 11-time Olympic champion, Allyson Felix and advocates like Dr. Joia Crear-Perry, founder of the National Black Equity Collaborative. BIRTHING JUSTICE combines expert interviews with very personal pregnancy and birth stories that emphasize the dangerous terrain many had to traverse before celebrating their joyful outcomes.
