THIS AMERICAN LAND

A unique series of magazine-style episodes hosted by Ed Arnett, a wildlife biologist and avid outdoorsman. Each episode will link 3 or 4 stories, sometimes in a theme, showing how conservationists, farmers and ranchers, fishermen, hunters and outdoor recreationists are sharing responsibilities for protecting America’;s natural heritage for future generations. The focus is on wild and beautiful places you’ve never heard about, and on passionate people protecting vital American landscapes, waters, and wildlife.

THIS AMERICAN LAND’s ninth season will continue exploring the conservation of the nation’s landscapes, waters and wildlife -- taking viewers to remote wilderness areas and vital habitats for threatened wildlife. Marking the season will be special reporting from unique areas protected by support from the Land and Water Conservation Fund – the Appalachian Trail, Blue Ridge Parkway, and Cape Romain, South Carolina. An insightful report investigates the mounting crisis of habitat destruction caused by herds of wild horses across the West. As always, the series will offer original and eye-opening stories from the frontlines where dedicated conservationists are working hard to save America’s natural resources. There’s nothing quite like this on national television; THIS AMERICAN LAND is a distinctive approach to covering serious national conservation issues. Some episodes also include a segment from the Science Nation series, produced by the National Science Foundation.
