For over two decades, half of medical students in the United States have been women, yet surgery is still rarely viewed as ‘women’s work.’ Ample evidence suggests that women are just as good (and possibly better) at delivering care, yet barriers to professional success persist. 1001 CUTS follows the careers of a unique generation of women who benefited from unprecedented educational opportunities within workplaces designed for men.
